RO System Installation in South Africa: What to Check Before You Buy
Buying a reverse osmosis system is only part of the job. Before you install an RO system, you need to check water pressure, feed water quality, drain access, storage needs and where the system will physically fit.
1. Confirm your water source
Municipal water, borehole water and blended supply can all behave differently. This affects pre-filtration, membrane choice and maintenance intervals.
2. Check pressure and flow rate
Some RO systems require booster pumps, especially where incoming pressure is low or demand is high. Correct sizing protects performance.
3. Plan for replacement filters
Membranes and cartridges are not once-off purchases. Make sure replacement filters and housings are easy to source.
4. Match the RO system to use case
Home drinking water, office use, refill businesses and industrial processing all need different system sizes.
